retention of coarse matter / separation of solids
lamella clarifier
separate solids from liquids according to the principle of sedimentation. lamella clarifier are used in mixed water and rainwater treatment. The separation of solids takes place in inclined lamella packs. These lamella packs increase the effective sedimentation area by a multiple of the actual base area of the tank. This improves the clarification effect within the tank.
‘ Reduction of water pollution
‘ Efficient solids retention
‘ Integrated clear water discharge
‘ Compact, modular design of the
lamella packs (expandable)
‘ Separating bulkhead system for clear water discharge
Sedimentation area to prevent
cross-currents
‘ Installation usually possible without modifying existing structures
Scenery baffles
are individually adapted to the structure and are even suitable for very confined spaces. Thanks to the arrangement of their coordinated slats, they effectively retention of floating matter. The water is drawn off below the surface, regardless of the water level. floating matter are reliably retained on the inlet side.
‘ Culvert-shaped arrangement causes retention of floating matter
‘ Versatile use, can also be mounted on thresholds
‘ No moving parts
‘ Can be used in extremely confined spaces
‘ Ideal for retrofitting
Floating baffles
are floating hollow bodies with a lenticular profile and lateral guide walls. The floating body is connected to pivot bearings anchored to the structure via lever arms. The most common areas of application are rainwater and sewage overflows, which are designed as fixed sleepers or as sleepers with movable weirs or weir flaps. There they reliably hold back floating matter from flowing into the receiving water.
‘ Versatile
‘ No vertical gap between the baffle and sill in the rest position
‘ Constant immersion depth with changing water level
‘ Horizontal inflow, thus reduced suction effect
Standard baffle
are used in front of all types of overflow sills in the area of stormwater overflows and stormwater overflow basins for simple applications of floating material retention. They are individually adapted to the respective structure.
‘ Modular construction system
‘ Statically safe design with economical material thicknesses (2 – 4 mm)
‘ Constructively sensible arrangement of bends and fixing points.
‘ Stainless steel design
fine screen system
are already reliably retaining floating and suspended solids from the sewer in more than 800 systems. The retention geometry is precisely defined by the special bar rack with slotted holes. A guide carriage carries the self-adjusting brush system, which continuously keeps the screen system clean. bgu offers numerous installation variants with different drives (also free of external gears).
‘ Effective scraping by clearing the grate beyond the grate ends without compressing the screenings.
‘ Defined and constant cross-section (special stable screen grate) with approx. 50% free passage.
‘ Modern, remote-controlled PLC controls with adequate data acquisition
‘ Flexible installation options (horizontal/vertical)
‘ Various drive types depending on the application
Radial screen
are used for discharge sills with a very high dirt load, e.g. at sills in front of or on sewage treatment plants or at separating sills to basins in the bypass. The radial screen shape used achieves a higher hydraulic capacity. The retention geometry is usually designed as a screen, but can also be designed as a bar screen on request.
‘ Screen surface is cleaned simultaneously across the entire width
‘ cleaning of the entire screen surface takes a very short time
‘ No accumulation of screenings in the tank
‘ Reduction in sleeper length due to high hydraulic capacity
‘ Modular arrangement enables small installation openings
are suitable for basin and clarifier overflows as well as receiving water outlets as flood protection. If rise of the water level is installed in the receiving water, water is prevented from entering the sewer system. Overloading of sewers and wastewater treatment plants is avoided, pollution is prevented and energy costs for pumping systems and wastewater treatment are reduced
‘ Reliable sealing
‘ Low hydraulic resistance
‘ Suitable for high dynamic pressures thanks to special stainless steel design
‘ Sensitive response
‘ Closed in idle position, reduces odor emissions
Vibrating screen
are used at stormwater drains with fixed sills. They keep coarser dirt particles from being discharged into the receiving water so that they can be fed into the sewage treatment plant together with the wastewater. Vibrating screens clean themselves without external energy at the end of a rain event.
‘ Optionally self-cleaning, without external energy
‘ Automatically opens when pressure rises (installation)
‘ Modular design, can be used in almost any building
‘ Low maintenance
‘ Easy to retrofit
flood protection
Backwater flaps
are suitable for basin and clarifier overflows as well as receiving water outlets as flood protection. If rise of the water level is installed in the receiving water, water is prevented from entering the sewer system. Overloading of sewers and wastewater treatment plants is avoided, pollution is prevented and energy costs for pumping systems and wastewater treatment are reduced

Floating flaps
are used on rainwater overflow sills to prevent backflow from the receiving watercourse into the sewer system during flooding. Overloading of the sewer system and wastewater treatment plants is avoided, pollution is prevented and energy costs for pumping systems and wastewater treatment are reduced.
‘ Open relief cross-section
‘ No hydraulic resistance (free overlap area)
‘ Robust, smooth-running bearing
‘ 3- and 4-sided seal possible
> Open in rest position, facilitates ventilation
Backflow protection elements
are used to prevent unwanted flooding from underwater or from the receiving water (high water). They are equipped with a flexible elastomer closure as a seal. A special feature is the modular design of backflow protection components. They are also recommended for retrofitting to existing structures.
‘ Proven, fabric-reinforced elastomer seals
‘ Various installation forms
‘ Can be adapted to the structure
> Sheet metal reinforcement of the elastomer if statically required
